The 'Colombo Arredamenti' website was developed for an Italian furniture company to showcase their products and services. The project was a collaboration with the web design company S3 Studio, and also part of a university course, 'Internet Laboratory,' at the University of Milano Bicocca. The site aimed to combine aesthetic appeal with usability, and the project was awarded the best grade of 30/30 in the course.
The development process focused on implementing key design and usability principles, which were central to the university course. These principles guided the user experience and user interface design to ensure that visitors would have an intuitive and engaging browsing experience.
On the technical side, the project was built using Symfony, PHP, and MySQL, with custom backend management systems. The website featured custom photo galleries and a slideshow functionality to display the furniture collections. These elements were developed to provide flexibility for future updates and content management, ensuring the site could grow as the business did.
In addition to its technical and aesthetic features, the project was a great success with the client, providing them with a professional, functional website that met both their design and business needs. It also reinforced the practical application of the design and usability concepts learned in the university course.
